“Modern and Stylish hotel in the heart of Christchurch with excellent service. We recently stayed at this hotel with our young family and elderly mother. The premises were very clean,comfortable and well appointed.The hotel is in the heart of Christchurch and everything is in walking distance. Even though all you need is on your doorstep the actual hotel is very quiet. We were most impressed with the very friendly and obilging staff. They went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay, even running some errrands for us and driving us to the airport free of charge when our taxi was not on time. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel."

"I stayed here this month for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. I travel to Christchurch often and 161 Hereford is a breath of fresh air for hotels in the city. First and foremost, the friendly, and welcoming staff are fantastic and are to be highly commended on their attention to detail. This is right from the houskeepers through to the Manager who met me off my late flight and was still in a suit after midnight and very helpful. I will definitely be staying again, the beds are great, and the hotel is in a great part of the CBD. Recommend to all"

"Really great hotel. We arrived after hours and the manager was friendly and took us up to our room. The lights were on and the room was comfortably warm. Great cooking facilities and having the laundry was a good factor! We had a two bedroom suite, was lovely and large. GREAT BEDS! Centrally located, very very helpful staff. Our car was parked for us and they went out of there way to look after us. Will definitely be back again."

"Centrally located near transport, restaurants and bars, 161 Hereford is a little gem.
From the time i entered the building, which was having the final touches put to the outside pavement, staff warmly greeted me, parked my car and showed me to my room. The room was a surprise well decorated, good lighting, a decent sized TV and the bathroom was big in comparison to many other hotels I have stayed. Bright, good amenities and nice fluffy towels enhanced this room. The best feature in the bedroom for me was the extremely comfortable bed and decent pillows allowing me to sleep really well. An added bonus, as I am a light sleeper, was the quietness of the room. Though no restaurant or fitness facilities on the premises the owner is forming alliances with the fitness club across the road and restaurants in the area so the visitor is not disadvantaged.
While staying at 161 Hereford I had a look at other rooms and they are suitable for families that prefer to self cater with the necessary facilities available. This hotel can meet the many different traveller needs and offers good value for money."
